3 Million Prayer Shawls
Acrylic and ink on paper, 18x24, 2024.
Every male packed his tallis (prayer shawl) and tefilin in a small suitcase on leaving home for the concentration camp. Jewish slaves at each camp collected the prayer shawls, carefully folded and bundled them, and stored them in giant warehouses, as envisioned by the artist.
They belonged to our fathers and grandfathers, brothers, uncles, and cousins, and you.
In the collection of Yad Vashem, Jerusalem.
Exhibited by the Gross-Rosen Muzeum, Rogoznica, Poland
