3 MILLION TALISIM (Prayer Shawls)
Acrylic and ink on paper, 18x24", 2024.
Our fathers and grandfathers, brothers, uncles, and cousins packed their talisim and tefilin on leaving home for the concentration camp, where each item was collected, carefully folded, bundled, and stored in warehouses. The former owners were murdered, of course. The talisim exhuded everyday holiness.
-In the Holocaust Art Research Center permanent collection of Yad Vashem, the World Holocaust Remembrance Center, Jerusalem.
-Exhibited by the Gross-Rosen Muzeum, Rogoznica, Poland.
