Jewish families were notified by the local police when and where to report to a staging area. From there, they forced marched to the rail line and were pressed standing room only into filthy, unheated cattle cars. Upon reaching their destination, women and children were permanently separated from husbands and fathers.
Here, a group of newly arrived mothers and their children, unknowingly awaiting a nazi life/death triage. Millions of Jewish children and pregnant women, exuding everyday holiness, were immediately gassed.
